Addiction is the universal problem almost 99% of the people are addicted towards one or the other thing in their lives.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED TO
People generally thinks that some prohibited habits like smoking ,drinking alcohol ,sniffing drugs alone turns in to addiction. but they do not recognize that  some of the  smaller  habits like eating chocolates, eating icecreams ,drinking tea and coffee,criticising others , thinking negatively,gossiping may also turns in to addiction.
Addiction not only towards prohibited habits but also towards common habits is not good for the physical and mental healths of the people.

WHAT TO DO TO COME OUT OF ADDICTION
In order to come out of the addiction ,firstly we have to know very clearly the mechanism that happens interiorly in the  process of addiction
If we sketch out the mechanism it will be as simple as this
Firstly a thought develops , then the thought  turns in to a habit ,then the habit becomes in to an addiction

So firstly let us know  about the development of a habit.

 DEVELOPMENT OF A HABIT
When a thought is  created in the mind based on a  particular belief system ,
  •  the intellect will analyse  the thought and gives the judgement.
  • According to the judgement of the  intellect our thought comes in to the action.
  • Then the action which is performed by us leaves an impression in the mind .
  • And if that particular action is performed repeatedly then it will becomes in to a habit.
HABIT TURNING IN TO ADDICTION
If we repeat the same type of action innumerable number of times
  • then that habit becomes so much deep rooted that the intellect stops interfering it and judging it.
When the intellect stops interfering
  •  every thought relating to that habit by pases the intellect and straight forward comes out in to the action .
This is how the addiction starts.
WARNING OF THE INTELLECT
Here actually the intellect tries to say which is right and which is wrong initially but the deep rooted habit ignores the advice  and very easily bypases the judgement given by the intellect

ADDICTION MOTIVATES INTELLECT
Very sad thing is that at the peak stage,
  • addiction itself motivates the intellect to perform the action. 
  • intellect  starts giving the judgement in the favour of the addiction.
In this way addiction successfully removes the hurdle of intellect on its way of conquering the mind .

HOW TO COME OUT OF ADDICTION
Very first step to be taken in the process of de addiction is being aware
  • Being aware of feelings in side
  • Being aware of  thoughts going on in the mind.

Being aware alone doesn't work here then what to do
  • after being aware try to observe the thoughts which are circulating in the mind .
  • Recognize the thoughts , acknowledge them and accept  them.
HELP OF MEDITATION
In order to be aware you have to develop the consciousness.
Developing the consciousness is made easy by meditation process .
Once you develop consciousness ,it will be very easy to be aware  of thoughts.

WHEN YOU START BEING AWARE OF THOUGHTS
When the people start developing the awareness they often complain that we are surrounded by negative thoughts and that is very good sign atleast we started recognizing the thoughts.
When you recognize the thought ,you have to sort it out whether it is a useful or useless thought .
Then Immediately you can through it out if it is useless.

WHY DOES ADDICTION PROLONGS
Addiction goes on because
  • habit has made  the strong impressions on the mind.
  • these impressions are something like deep grooves.
  •  when a thought falls in these grooves it will be impossible to pull  it out, if we do not work on that particular area.
 So we have to work on observing the thoughts and  on being aware of them until we  smoothen the grooves on the mind created by the habit.

EXAMPLE OF SMOKING AND ALCOHOL
Most of the people generally start smoking and drinking just out of passion.
  • Intellect permits you to perform  this action initially when it gets the answer just for fun from you .

  • The actions of fun slowly increases and turns in to a small habit.
  • During the continuation of the habit you will bypass the warning of the intellect .
  • Soon the habit goes on more vigorously and leaves strong grooves on the mind.
So  the thought to smoke or to drink  when falls in the groove immediately it takes the form of action.
In this stage intellect stops judging and stops giving advices to you.
The mind becomes weaker and weaker . when you faces a intense situation in your life ,mind will not be in a position to take the perfect decision because the thoughts are not concentrated.
Thoughts  completely flows in to the big valley in the mind which is created  because of addiction.

HOW TO QUIT SMOKING AND ALCOHOL
very first important thing is
  • developing the will power, creat the thought ,that I can do it.
Once you create the thought of quitting the smoking or any other thing ,in the next step
  • recognize the thought which says you to smoke or to do drink   
  • then be with that thought 
  • keep observing the thought.
In the initial stage
  •  Respect the thought and do accordingly 
  • ,smoke whole heartedly ,while smoking concentrate completely on smoking do not allow any other thought.
Continue doing like this for some number of days and see the magic.

GOLDEN RULE IN DE - ADDICTION PROCESS
You have learnt that recognizing thought is important in the process of de addiction ,so after recognizing it ,
  • you can come out of it without becoming victim to it very easily by dwelling in to  intense presence in that particular momment.
  • Do not allow the rememberance of  recent past momment which was burnt in the addiction.
  • acknoweledge every thing that happens around you at that particular momment.
  • dive in to the complete presence.
Developing the will power ,observing the thoughts helps you a lot.
If you keep the entire process of addiction in the mind it will be very easy for any one to come out of addiction at any stage
